Seaforth, Sydney – Renovation
This is the second renovation I have done for these lovely clients whom I first met in Darwin in 2011. They have since moved to Sydney – to a beautiful two story home in the harbour suburb of Seaforth.
Metamorphic completely re-designed the lower level of this home. The aim was to create one large open-plan kitchen/living/dining area which felt light and airy and was connected to the outdoors.
A started by removing an internal dividing wall which was blocking too much light and creating awkward spaces. We then added a huge sculptural island bench, fully clad in Japanese mosaic tiles. We kept a neutral palette to showcase the beautiful materials such as stone, timber and stainless steel and porcelain. To emphasize the unique design and curved lines of the island, we added a brass shadow trim under the stone benchtop and LED lighting along the baseline.
The downstairs powder room and master ensuite were also completely redesigned. We used floor to ceiling marble tiles combined with timber veneer and premium fixtures and fittings to create a luxury hotel feel.
